After 50 editions, Festival of Two Worlds will change its name. Minster Rutelli announced it when appointed Mr Giorgio Ferrara to be the Festival Artistic Director, but an absolute reserve is still maintained about it. Yesterday, on the occasion of the press conference, Mr Ferrara declared that it will be a simple name, surely including Spoleto, just like "Festival di Spoleto", "Spoleto Festival Ita" or "Spoleto Festival Italia" that recollects "Spoleto Festival Usa" the Charleston Festival founded by Maestro Menotti. In fact, the twinship between Spoleto and the American city will be soon renovated and new synergies will be also established with some of the most famous international and international exhibitions and festivals such as Naples, Avignon, Edinburgh and the Venice Biennale.Mr Ferrara seemed friendly, willing to help and with clear ideas about the new festival edition. After a visit to the Spoleto's theatres and locations, he stated that the city appears to be a European Capital and that it's ready to host year-long workshops where costumes and setting could be produced, making all the Arts work together.The Festival program is not well defined, yet, but there will surely be a great open air concert with a world known conductor (may be Maestro Pappano) as well as the usual appointment with Spoleto Science (ref. Sigma-Tau Foundation). More than this, a lot of room to opera, lyrics and dance.The date has not been exactly decided but the festival will be performed during the month of June.
